KultureCity® Donates Sensory Bags to Support Minnesota Families Raising Autistic Children and Children with Sensory Needs
Minnesota — KultureCity®, the world’s leading nonprofit dedicated to sensory accessibility and inclusion, is proud to announce the donation of sensory bags to families across Minnesota who are raising autistic children or children with sensory processing needs. These sensory bags are designed to support emotional regulation and provide comfort during times of transition—particularly during months when routines may shift and community spaces feel more overwhelming.
For many families, changes in daily structure, late-night prayer schedules, and increased time in community or religious spaces can intensify sensory overload for children with sensory needs. KultureCity’s sensory bags include carefully selected tools such as noise-reducing headphones, fidget tools, and visual supports to help children self-regulate and navigate these moments more comfortably.
“Our goal is simple: to meet families where they are and provide practical tools that make everyday life a little more manageable,” said Uma Srivastava, Executive Director of KultureCity®. “For families raising children with sensory needs, even small disruptions to routine can be overwhelming. These sensory bags are meant to offer comfort, dignity, and support—whether that’s during a late evening out, time spent in community spaces, or moments when regulation feels especially challenging.”
This initiative reflects KultureCity’s ongoing commitment to equity, accessibility, and ensuring that all families—regardless of circumstance—have access to resources that promote inclusion and well-being.
“Growing up with siblings on the autism spectrum, my family learned early on that community spaces aren’t always built with sensory needs in mind, especially during times like Ramadan, when routines shift and environments become more stimulating. This partnership is about meeting families where they are and offering practical support that helps children feel regulated, included, and supported during moments that matter.” — Najma Omar, Co-Founder & Chairman, Submerge in Sensory
By partnering with local organizations and community leaders, KultureCity continues to expand its impact beyond certified venues—bringing sensory-inclusive resources directly into the hands of families who need them most.
